Inside the Columns

Inside the columns:   this refers to settlement charges on the Hud-1 Settlement Statement that must appear listed inside the columns for borrower's and seller's charges paid at closing.

Outside the Columns: this refers to settlement charges on the Hud-1 Settlement Statement that must appear as notations outside the columns provided for borrower's and seller's charges paid at closing. For some settlement categories, these notation amounts are totaled, with the totals listed inside the columns for borrower's and seller's charges paid at closing. For example, line 1101 for Title Services and Lender's Title Insurance contains, inside the columns, the total of amounts listed outside the columns for Settlement Fee (line 1102) plus Lender's Title Title Insurance (line 1104).
